TERMS & CONDITIONS

1) ATTENDANCE & BEHAVIOUR

  • All students must maintain an exemplary standard of behaviour. No swearing is allowed, physical violence and bullying is unacceptable and may result in cancellation of enrolment. In the instance where a cancellation is enforced due to physical violence, bullying or unacceptable behaviour, there will be no refunds or credits owing.

  • In the event of absence, we request parents phone the office so that all students can be accounted for. Due to class structure we cannot provide makeup classes inthe event of an absence.

  • Students should arrive at the venue or online where the class will take place on time. Late arrival will not incur fee reduction or credit.

  • Friends of students are not permitted to ‘come along’ to classes without the written approval of their parent/guardian. Supervision will not be provided for anyone who has not submitted an enrolment form, media consent form or paid the tuition fees.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company teachers are trained by our fully qualified teachers or have an equivalent teaching qualification, they all hold up to date blue cards and have undergone our Child Protection Policy. They will use necessary and suitable means to control the class and ensure the safety of the participants. Where a child’s safety or that of our team is in question, we may request the immediate removal of your child from our program.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company reserves the right to refuse admission to any person who poses a threat or disciplinary problem to our team and other class members. On refusal of admission a refund is not available.

  • Parents, guardians may wait for the completion of drama classes in the Foyer of premises used by Goat Track Theatre Company with the understanding that damages or loss of building, equipment, furniture must be replaced/paid for in full.

  • Behaviour of parents/guardians must in no way intimidate or disturb the peace of the team/teachers, drama class participants and/or other patrons. You may be asked to vacate the premises at any time if these terms and conditions are not strictly adhered to.

2) drop off & pick up procedures

PREP-GRADE 6 STUDENTS

  • Students in our primary school programs, GTKids prep-grade 6 and primary aged acting for film, are required to be dropped of by a parent or guardian who has been registered with the company on the time of enrolment. Please bring your child/ren to the classroom. Ensure that you are on time. If you are late, you can still enter the classroom but please ensure that the entrance does not disturb or detract from the running of the lesson.

  • Parents and guardians are to wait outside the classroom. Only during OPEN CLASSES will parents and guardians be allowed into the classroom.

  • Students are to be picked up on time from the classroom. We will not release students to walk home by themselves, run across the road or to a waiting car in carparks. Students must be picked up from the classroom by a registered parent or guardian. The Teacher Artist will open the classroom door on the completion of the lesson and wait till every child is safely with their parent or guardian.

  • In the instance where a NEW person is to collect your child/ren who is not listed with the company, the Teacher Artist must be notified in writing prior to the day. We will not release a child/ren to an unknown person not registered with our company.

  • If you are late in picking up your child/ren, the student will remain with the Teacher Artist at the venue or in the next class inside the classroom with the Teacher Artist. Students will not be left alone or unattended. It is the responsibility of the parent and guardian to ensure they are on time.

  • Please ensure that you have supplied an EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBER when enrolling your child/ren so that we can get in contact with you or another registered person.

    HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • For our high school aged students, fast track production, actor training and acting for film, students may arrive on their own i.e. bus, train or walk. We ask that parents and guardians make us aware of this arrangement in advance in writing.

  • On pick up, please arrive on time to the venue. Most of our council venues do have a lock out time for security purposes so you will have to wait outside the gated area to pick up your child.

  • If you are late, the Teacher Artist will always remain with your child/ren outside the venue. It is the responsibility of the parent and guardian to ensure they are on time.

  • In the instance where a NEW person is to collect your young person who is not listed with the company, the Teacher Artist must be notified in writing prior to the day.

  • If your young person has an alternative method of getting home i.e. bus, train or driving themselves, Goat Track must be notified in writing.

3) STUDENTS SAFETY & HYGIENE

  • Food and drink are not permitted at Goat Track Theatre Company during a drama class or in any Goat Track Theatre Company venue. An exception is made for bottled water that must under no circumstance be shared between students. Chewing gum is strictly not permitted during drama class.

  • Students are asked to wear loose comfortable clothing to class that will allow for freedom of movement. This doesn’t include school uniform, skirts or dresses which severely compromise the participation of students in some exercises. Goat Track Theatre Company Training Uniforms are available through the office in a range of sizes. Photos or video documentation of students wearing 'other' uniforms will not be used in promotional material by Goat Track Theatre Company.

  • Participation is at your own risk and you must follow all safety procedures as instructed by our teacher artists. Students who fail to follow instructions by the instructor that may harm themselves or others may be excluded from the class.

  • Parents are asked to pick up their children promptly from venues. Supervision of students only extends to the drama class times and immediate foyer are used by Goat Track Theatre Company. In the instance where a student does not follow specific instructions by the parent and/or instructor, no responsibility is taken by Goat Track Theatre Company. Injury incurred from the use of equipment not supplied by Goat Track Theatre Company or outside the venue used by Goat Track Theatre Company is not the responsibility of the staff/teachers of Goat Track Theatre Company.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company teachers /staff will obtain medical assistance which they deem necessary should an accident occur. Medical expenses will not be incurred by Goat Track Theatre Company on behalf of the participant.

  • Medical information MUST be completed as a condition of enrolment before tuition will commence. Existing medical conditions must be made aware to the team and teachers prior to starting drama classes.

4) PAYMENT & CANCELLATION

  • Term fees are to be paid in full prior to the commencement of each term. Fees are paid using our subscription model which can be accessed via our shop. The subscription model options are either Annual or Quarterly and must be paid upfront prior to the next ten weeks or year of tuition. Early cancelation of enrolment does not mean that full fees are forfeited – payment is made for the full 10 weeks or year depending on your choice of subscription.

  • All students are enrolled for a program - a term or year - not a lesson by lesson structure. A program lasts for the duration of 10 weeks or year in the instance of an annual subscription- all term dates are clearly shown on our term calendar on the website. Please be reminded that fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Goat Track Theatre Company cannot accept responsibility for changes to students’ personal circumstances, or a change of mind that may prevent class attendance. No credits for student absence will be given. As a courtesy, Goat Track Theatre may be able to offer a make up class within the week that you miss your class at an alternative venue if this is suitable and there are places available within that class.

  • Goat Track Theatre respects all Public Holidays and is closed for business (and classes) on these days. We will make options available for families to either attend an alternative afternoon or a double session the following week after the Public Holiday.

  • Cancellation of enrolment will exist in the instance where fees are not paid in full at the beginning of the new 10 week term. If we haven’t received fees, we will no longer offer tuition to the student.

  • If you are experiencing difficulties paying, please let us know immediately. Failure to communicate will only mean that Goat Track Theatre Company assumes that cancellation of enrolment has happened without your written notification.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company's payment method is via our shop on the website using our subscription method. Depending on your chosen scheduled payment method (quarterly or annually), the payment will automatically be debited from your account until you cancel your enrolment. You are permanently enrolled and subscribed to the debit until such time that you cancel your subscription.

  • Should you wish to cancel your enrolment, please ensure that you cancel your subscription / enrolment 2 weeks prior to the commencement of your next scheduled subscription payment via your account login. Cancellation AFTER the subscription debit date is not sufficient warning and no refunds will be given if you have failed to cancel prior to your renewal date.

  • The Acting For Film Program is a full year program and when you sign up to the program you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of being involved for a full year. This includes the payment of a full years tuition. You will only receive the Show Reel and Actor Head Shots at the Graduation Event and these remain the property of Goat Track until the full fees have been completed. Cancelation of your enrolment will not forfeit your commitment to pay the full fees to be involved in this program as you are holding a position in the course for a full year.

5) ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

  • Annual Membership is only valid for 1 year. Workshop entry is only valid for the enrolled Goat Track Student whom the Annual Membership is registered in and is not transferrable to others. Tickets to shows do not include the Green Carpets, however you will receive VIP seating at the event. Film Projects and Camps are not included in the Annual Membership and must be paid for in full. Items not redeemded throughout the year are not refundable nor are they transferrable to other Goat Track events, products, merchandise or classes etc. Annual Memberships cannot be paid off using instalments; they must be paid in full and upfront. Use constitutes acceptance of the Terms & Conditions as stipulated herein and only upon full payment of the membership.

  • A note on Annual Membership: A change of mind or circumstances outside of the control of Goat Track Theatre does not allow for a refund so please be sure when signing up that you are committing to the year long program.

6) DEFAULT AND CONSEQUENCES OF DEFAULT

  • Please give 2 weeks written notice of discontinuation of classes should you not want to continue with us OR cancel your subscription / enrolment via your account login. The two weeks still incur the weekly fee until the two weeks period has expired and only until all debts are paid off in full.

  • Cancellation of enrolment by the participant or enforced by Goat Track Theatre Company will not incur a refund of fees.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company will practice privacy and confidentiality regarding all personal information provided by the participant and parent/guardian.

  • We reserve the right to send outstanding fees to a collection agency to recover outstanding fees. The fee incurred for this service will be passed onto the parent/guardian on top of their outstanding fees. That agency may pass the debtors personal details to a credit reference bureau.

7) TRIAL DEPOSIT

  • A $50 trial deposit per child is taken when you agree to a TRIAL. This is done as a credit card transaction and a receipt of payment will be emailed to you.

  • The trial deposit will ONLY be fully deposited back into your credit card account once you have met the following 2 conditions: a) you have physically turned up to the trial and attended the class, b) you have had a follow up conversation with either our Enrolment Officer or the Teacher Artist the following working day. As soon as this is done, the trial deposit is refunded immediately back into your account with an email confirmation sent.

  • Should you wish to postpone or reschedule your trial, please call the Enrolment Officer and a new date will be arranged. Postponing or rescheduling does not forfeit the terms and conditions of the trial deposit. You still must turn up to the trial and have a follow up conversation in order to be fully refunded.

8) FORCE MAJEURE

  • In the instance where a force majeure event takes place, Goat Track Theatre will seek to offer alternative ways of delivering our programs or events such as online classes and / or LIVE STREAMING performances. Where this is not possible Goat Track Theatre is relieved from performing its contractual obligations due to an event that is outside the reasonable control of the affected party. Common force majeure events include 'acts of God', 'natural disasters', 'government action or interference', 'national emergencies', ‘lockdowns’, and 'acts of war'.

  • Goat Track Theatre will attempt to offer an alternative solution where this is possible such as credits or make up classes.

9) UNDERSTANDING REGARDING *GROWTH GUARANTEE

  • Goat Track Theatre Company has promoted the Drama Classes and both the participant and parent / guardian has requested to participate in these classes;

  • The parent /guardian and participant have articulated their desires and wishes for the drama classes and the teacher has been made aware and agrees to the desired outcomes;

  • The *Growth Guarantee will only be valid if full participation has occurred, meaning physical presence AND a willingness to participate;

  • Goat Track Theatre Company has agreed that the participant shall participate in the Drama Classes subject to the participant indemnifying Goat Track Theatre Company, its servants and agents against claims for loss and damage caused to him/her as a result of such participation;

  • The participant has agreed to indemnify Goat Track Theatre Company and its servants and agents against all or any such loss or damage whether caused by the negligence of Goat Track Theatre Company, its servants or agents or otherwise;

  • The parent or guardian of the participating child indemnifies and will at all times keep Goat Track Theatre Company and its servants and agents indemnified from and against all actions, proceedings, claims, demands, costs and expenses in respect of any injuries, loss or damage however caused and whether through the negligence of Goat Track Theatre Company and its servants or agents or otherwise and in any way connected with his/her child’s participation in Goat Track Theatre Company Drama Classes; and

  • The participant agrees that photographs and video footage may be taken off him/her during the drama classes. These may be used by Goat Track Theatre Company to promote future programs. The appropriate consent will be sort prior to publication from the parent/guardian. In the insistence where you do not wish your child to be filmed or photographed we must receive notification in writing for it to be kept on file and for all team members to be made aware. Failure to notify us, or a change in mind, does not give us adequate notification to honour your wishes.

10) recording of classes for Quality Control & coaching

  • Goat Track Theatre Company has a very thorough and comprehensive quality control and coaching system in place to ensure that your child is receiving the best possible teaching and tuition. As such, on occasions we record the sessions with the intent of providing feedback for the Teacher Artist and their practice.

  • Camera footage and recordings will only be stored to provide team members with observation notes, quality coaching and feedback.

  • For Productions performed by students in our Fast Track Production Course, their work is recorded with the intention to share it with participants for sale on our members portal.

  • All video footage recorded for our Acting For Film Program will be shared with our film editor and teaching staff in order to create the students Show Reels. These are stored privately. The subsequent Show Reels are publicly shared at a Film Graduation Event and passed on to the students via a USB and they can disperse to Agents if they wish. These Show Reels mostly contain only the footage of the student but in the instance where it is duologue or group work, it will contain the footage of other students. Students signing up to the Acting For Film Program clearly understand that in order to take part in this program, the students will have to be filmed and recorded and the video footage stored on Goat Track Theatre premises.

11) ONLINE CLASSES DISCLAIMER AND DISCLOSURE STATEMENT

Disclosure

  • Completion of an enrolment form by parents and guardians of children under the age of 18 gives Goat Track Theatre Company the right to offer drama classes to students in person and/or on an online format, and,

  • Parents understand that the drama classes presented online via the video conferencing platform ZOOM are designed specifically to teach students the skills and techniques of drama and/or to perform presentation and performances of students work, and,

  • Goat Track Theatre Company’s drama classes presented online are conducted by our Teacher Artists who have all passed our Child Protection Policy and are fully registered Blue Card holders. No outside providers or teachers will be involved in the teaching of these classes without the prior received consent of parents/guardians, and, 

  • Any recordings; video, audio or text, of classes are done with the explicit intent of sharing with students to further their learning. These recordings may be sent to parents from the classes or shared with other enrolled students via the Private Facebook Group, and,

  • Recordings that are made with the explicit use to advertise or promote are covered under our Terms & Conditions and Media Consent agreed to upon enrolment. Those parents wishing to limit their child’s media restrictions have been noted and will be extended to the online application. Should you wish to extend any further restrictions, we ask that you send them to us in writing so that we can update your child’s file.

Disclaimer

  • Students are expected to be under the supervision of a responsible parent and/or guardian within the premises of your own home whilst taking part in the drama lessons provided by Goat Track Theatre Company, and,  

  • Students are expected to follow the instructions given by the Teacher Artist to ensure that all exercises are done properly, and as such, Goat Track Theatre Company are not liable for any damage or injury that occurs on your own premises during the lesson, and, 

  • Students are expected to take part in the lessons in a safe environment with ample space during the lessons. The recommended space is approximately 2 x 2meters and should be free of any obstacles that will inhibit free movement, and, 

  • Students have been asked not to consume food during the classes to ensure that there are no distractions and / or choking hazards throughout the lesson, and, 

  • Consumption of water during the lesson is acceptable and students are asked to keep the water away from technical equipment, and, 

  • Students must wear their Actor Training Attire as clearly outlined in the enrolment package for both in person classes as well as online classes. This includes a Goat Track T-Shirt and full-length blue jeans or black leggings and/or pants. No skirts, dresses or scant clothing that may compromise the students modesty. Students not appropriately dressed will not be allowed into the ZOOM Online Drama Classroom, and,

  • Students must ensure that they are wearing footwear that is non-slip to minimise the chance of falling or slipping on surfaces that are slippery, and, 

  • Students are required to undertake their classes in an environment free from distraction and/or the possibility of other siblings under the age of 18 entering the view of the camera who are not enrolled students of the company or a member of that class. If other minors are in view of the camera the student will be excluded from the room until they are out of view, and, 

  • Students are expected to display a friendly behaviour and manner to other students and Goat Track Theatre Company Team for both in person classes and online classes. This includes ensuring every student and team member feels welcomed and included. No bullying or offensive remarks / actions will be tolerated. Students seen to be bullying will be excluded from the classroom after their first warning, and,

  • Students and/or parents are not allowed to record the lessons using any device including computer, mobiles or any other external device. The content covered in the lessons are the Intellectual Property of Goat Track Theatre Company and may not be shared or duplicated, and, 

  • Students will not be allowed into the Online Drama Classroom unless they are a fully financial student; meaning their fees are paid and up to date. Should you be experiencing financial difficulty please contact the office to arrange payment plans to ensure your child continues to learn with us.

  • Goat Track Theatre Company takes no responsibility for any technical difficulties affecting your personal connection to attend the classes. Should you fail to get adequate connection you will not be eligible for a refund. Please ensure you have tested your connection during your FREE trial and you are comfortable with the serviceability.
